Welcome to Open Commentary
OpenCommentary.Com is a community for Christians to collaboratively share their real life experience associated with individual Bible verses.
Building up of the Body

Here we enable you to post commentaries associated with any Bible verse, and optionally include any amount of helpful information:
  • associated with the sharing: book and verse, translation version, language, related verses, reference URL,
  • associated with the sharer: name, contact info, church affliation, parachurch organization, personal URL, favorite Christian site, personality, etc

Doing so as a community will allow each of our small amount of sharing to add up to cover the whole Bible many times over. Furthermore, we will be able to find related postings, personalities, and kindred spirits within the community.

As a double-edge sword, verses of the Bible comes to life and take on special personal meaning, whether in our moments of inspiration, result of personal Bible studies, hearing of a sermon, or during discussion at small group gatherings. The insights we receive are worth sharing and preserving, most effectively done online, and hence the mission for this website.

Evangelism
The current post-modern relativist culture no longer believes in or seek the Truth that can be found through the Bible, hence easily disregards the role of Faith as merely a mental or intellectual transformation.

Lacking answers in life, people now frequently ask "does it work?" As Christians, we can most powerfully share our faith by demonstrating our realistic everyday walk: showing that Christ is real in our everyday life. If we can share testimonies and associating them with various biblical verses, we will show that Christ still matters, and God's Word is alive.

Given that the word "love" has been overused and now devoid of its meaning, in last century Christians speak of "sharing one's faith", but this century we must "share our hope", via realistic evidence and testimonies.
