Our enjoyment of Food
Many animals do not cook, but eat to survive.  We human learned to cook, and actually enjoy the taste of food.  This has great implications in our faith.
During a visit to friends, I decided that I should pray with the kids before meal as an expression of our Christian faith, and as a catalyst for evangelism.

Looking at food, we Chinese think of farmers to thank, but who made food possible in the first place? And why it even taste good, pleasing to our pallet?

Of course, there are a range of taste that we experience, bitter and sweet. But the fact that the basics we need are pleasantly tasted is a miracle.

Our appetite is a natural desire that is met in delicious food. All appetites are fulfilled in some way, whether food, fragrance, sexual, emotional, physical, etc. They can be met via good or inappropriate ways, just as hunger can be quench by healthy or junk food.

Why then do we have the desire for justice, beauty, truth, and other eternal values? Maybe simply because of their simple platonic form? but we desire these far more than mathematics, which is the purest of platonic forms. So these social and life values run far deeper in the psyche of humanity.  Indeed, they are meant to be met only by God. They are indeed found in Christ.

When people are addicted to Soap Operas, it is the sense of speed up life, to taste justice and the fulfillment of romance and desires, hope, and yearning.  Isn't it time to give the real fountain of life a try?  Find your true fulfilling life by coming to know Jesus!
